Extraordinary Central Park Views
Fifth Avenue "Gold Coast" Pre War Condominium
|
Constructed in 1926, this elegant, 13-story prewar
condominium was designed by James E.R. Carpenter,
rival to master architect, Rosario Candela, and
is only one of three prewar condominiums existing
on Fifth Avenue. Each floor of the apartment house
consists of one 11 room apartment, which, historically,
have rarely been available on the market for sale.
The
apartment is entered from a private elevator landing
which leads to a large (12' x 13') foyer, from
which glorious Central Park views can immediately
be seen. Each of the public rooms, the drawing
room, formal dining room, and library lead off
of the foyer.
|
| Entering
the large, sunny corner drawing room, views of
Central Park are dominated by the Central Park
West skyline, and the entrance of the Metropolitan
Museum is beautifully framed in the north window
of the room. The wood-burning fireplace, high
ceilings and herringbone floors complete the prewar
details.
The
drawing room leads to the large formal dining
which also has direct views of Central Park and
a wood-burning fireplace. A library, off the foyer,
completes the public rooms.
A
private corridor leads to three large master bedrooms,
each with full bath en suite. The master suite
is filled with light and has lovely townhouse
views.
The
large kitchen has two maids' rooms and a laundry
room adjacent. |
