Elegance on Fifth Avenue
The Pierre Hotel
Apartment 402

The legendary Pierre Hotel was built in 1929 when restauranteur and hotelier Charles Pierre Casalasco, son of Jacques Pierre, owner of the famed Hotel Anglais in Monte Carlo, collaborated with E.F.Hutton, Walter P. Chrysler and  other Wall Street financiers to raise $15,000,000 to create a hotel he hoped would be a "majestic monument to simplicity, beauty and refinement."

Casalasco built his hotel in the finest location on Fifth Avenue and presented his guests with magnificent suites with extraordinary Central Park views, wood-paneled salons and cuisine by August Escoffier, the great French chef.

Today, this fabled beaux-arts landmark has remained one of the truly great hotels of the world retaining approximately 77 cooperatives which have been purchased by the world's most distinguished tenancy which included in the past Cary Grant and Elizabeth Taylor.

Apartment 402 epitomizes the vision of Charles Pierre, with its glorious views of Central Park framed by a quintessential New York skyline, and its gracious space overlooking Fifth Avenue. Dominated by two grand terraces bordered by huge sculptured urns, the apartment has 11' ceilings throughout, original moldings and parquet floors. The large drawing room (20 x31), library and master bedroom overlook Fifth Avenue, the second bedroom and dining room overlook terraces.

Optimum services by this great hotel offer the ultimate lifestyle with the best dining and the best traditions.
